So you’ve found the right gemstone for you – now what do you do with it? Depending on the size of the stone there are lots of different ways to use it.
Large stones, or crystal clusters can be placed at strategic points around your house. For example, keep a rose quartz in the room your family uses most to foster loving relationships, or keep an amethyst on your bedside table to ward off nightmares.
Smaller gemstones can be taken to be set in jewellery, or simply worn about your person in a small pouch or draw-string bag. They can be placed under your pillow to help you sleep and dream, or kept in your wallet to attract riches.
A popular use for gemstones is as part of a medicine bag – you can either place one gem in with some other items (for example, herbs) or you can choose gems which spell out the name of the person the bag is for. For example, Rose might have a ruby, an opal, a sapphire and an emerald.
Gemstones can also be used when working with your chakras. You can either place one stone on each of the chakras points in your body as you lay down, or arrange them around yourself on the floor. Different gems work best with different chakras for different people, so don’t be afraid to experiment. You don’t necessarily have to limit the stones to your chakras either – try different layouts as well as different stones.
Finally you can empower gemstones for use in spells and magical workings. This can be done with any size and type of stone, and the only limit to the ways you can use them is your own imagination.
