Description

Angelite appears most often as a delicate blue to blue-green gemstone, which can be transparent or transluscent. It can also be found in a range of other pale, cool shades, including white, grey, violet or even colourless. Angelite has a hardness of 3.5, meaning it is quite a soft gemstone.

About

Angelite is formed from Gypsum, when it loses water, and can actually be converted back into Gypsum with the addition of water. Its proper name, Anhydrite, comes from the Greek ‘an hydros’ meaning ‘without water’. It is found in Mexico, Peru, Germany and New Mexico.

Health

Angelite is good for healing, regeneration and rejuvenation. It can be used for back injuries, tumors and broken bones. Angelite can be used for general pain relief, as well as soothing stomach ulcers and sunburn. It is very helpful for respiratory problems, including lungs and throat as well as thyroid problems. It is good for cleansing and for balancing the fluid functions of the body.

Angelite is used extensively when working with angels, for obvious reasons. Angelite also helps heal and soothe emotional hurt or anger, and aids communication. It can be used to attune to the spiritual world, and to balance the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual states.

Angelite can be helpful when trying to achieve astral projection, and is also associated with telepathy and heightened sensory awareness. It brings tranquility, compassion and calmness, and in chakra work can be used to unlock Nada, or the inner mystical sounds.
